Buyer’s ask: length = 210 mm, waist = 185 mm, pad width = 100 mm and weight per diaper = ~5 g

Our standard: 260 × 195 mm / ~10 g per diaper
Our plan: Shorten the length to 240–250 mm, set the pad width to 125 mm, and target a weight of 8–9 g (a small buffer to keep absorbency reliable).
1.5–3.0 kg Size
Buyer’s ask: 280 mm length / 240 mm waist / 160 mm pad width / ~11 g per diaper
Our standard: 310 × 220 mm / ~13 g per diaper
Our plan: Optimize the length to 280–295 mm, adjust the waist to 240 mm and pad width to 160 mm, and aim for 11–12 g per diaper.
Controlling Expenses
Onboarding you as a customer and optimizing the processes for you as well is a whole engineering effort. Basic Calculations in Order and Bag Count
Depending on if you have chosen 25 or 30 diapers per bag, this is what your order summary comes out to
25 diapers per bag: 200,000 bags/ 25 diapers = 8000 bags per size of each tier.
30 diapers per bag: 200,000 bags/ 30 diapers = 6666 full bags and 20 other diapers per size.
Quick tip: If you want the bag counts to be more even, order quantities that are multiples of 30 diapers. If not, we’ll top up the last bag with extra to make it feel like you are not even a number.
Q: Does a premature baby require a special kind of diaper? What one would that be?
A: Yes, a preemie would require a specific diaper that fits the width and length of their body. The best options have:
More precise, smaller, and delicate fittings.
Materials which are soft (to avoid rash and other tumble abrasions)
Weights that are of the lowest range.
Core and leg openings that are narrower (to prevent rub without leak)
A low-allergy experience with topsheets
Vents and non-woven back sheets which are PE and breathable.
A gentle tape that does not create tight pressure on the sensitive skin.
Q: What are the differences, in your opinion, in preemie and newborn (NB) diapers?
A: The main differences are:
Diaper Size: Preemie nappy diapers are shorter and narrower, newborns are too big for the majority under the 2 kg.
Weight and Absorbency: Preemie diapers are less in weight and the absorbency is tailored towards premature changes which is common for preemies.
Fit Details: Preemie diaper fits are constructed with softer, slimmer waist, and leg elastics to avoid massive pressure marks on the low weight babies.
Q: What is your take on Preemie vs Newborn diapers?
A: The weight of the baby, and any advice from the health professionals need considering:
≤ 2.0 kg: Preemie diapers would be the best fit.
2.0–2.5 kg: Uses large preemie size or small newborn size and works great for transitions.
≥2.5 kg: Newborn diapers will usually fit.
If you’re uncertain, try two adjacent sizes. You’re looking for a snug, not tight, seal at the leg and waist and absent of leaks.
Q: How often should I change a preemie’s diaper if they have diaper rash?
A: Gentler, more frequent changes are recommended.
During the day, check every two to three hours and change the diaper right after a stool is noted.
At night, the baby should not be disturbed unless they have a stool or clearly visible irritation is noted.
Barrier creams should be used if advised by a clinician after the skin is gently cleaned with alcohol-free wipes or warm water, patted dry, and the barrier cream applied.
Q: What about preemies who have outgrown preemie diapers but are too small for newborns? Are there pull-ups for them?
A: There are ultra-small pull-ups, but the waistband for babies less than or equal to 2.5 kg is difficult. The better option is to use a large preemie size such as our 310×220 mm or a small newborn size as a bridge.
